running again

The streets are empty and clear
the traffic jam is gone
I’m on the road to the finish
but I cannot see the end, though

Running next to others
I hold on to the thought
that there’s a hidden sense
something maybe somehow known

The police makes a place
but I don’t ask for it
they only say what’s allowed and what’s not
and I don’t need any of it

The road signs are misleading
they don’t show any direction
so I follow the movement of the flowing crowd
deafened by awards

Looking at the staring faces
I pass on the way
I wonder if they know, if they’ll tell me why
I’m running a Marathon again
